The Best Cheshire Food Festivals This Summer

Cheshire has an excellent range of food festivals, stretching from the early spring right through until the end of summer.

In country halls, parks and market towns, these events are great for trying new things, picking up cookery tips and gathering inspiration to try in your kitchen at home.

Here is our pick of the best food festivals taking place across Cheshire this summer.

Arley Garden Festival

23 – 24 June 2018

Arley Hall and Gardens, Northwich

One of the finest horticultural festivals in the North West, Arley Garden Festival also has an excellent food offering, with dozens of food traders in the historic Cruck Barn and ‘Arley Bakes’ cooking and bakery demonstrations.

Green fingered guests can also enjoy guided garden tours and a Gardening Question Time Panel on both days of the festival. There will also be a bass band and a jazz band playing.

Shrewsbury Food Festival

24 – 25 June 2018

The Quarry, Shrewsbury

More than 25,000 people are expected to visit Shrewsbury’s Quarry Park for the town’s annual celebration of food. Expect demonstrations, a chef’s school, a BBQ competition and much more in the park and around town.

Born out of a passion for food in 2012, the food festival forms part of Shrewsbury’s bid to build a reputation as a centre of gastronomic excellence.

Tatton Park Foodies Festival

12 – 15 July 2018

Tatton Park, Knutsford

The Foodies Festival returns to Tatton Park in mid-July, with the launch of an all-new Feast in the Park running on Friday and Saturday until 9pm. Visitors can also enjoy a selection of 30 street food trucks offering cuisines from around the world and live music acts across the weekend.

You’ll also find Michelin star chefs, Bake Off winners and champagne, wine, beer and gin tasting events – what’s not to love.

Nantwich Food and Drink Festival

31 August – 2 September 2018

Nantwich Town Centre, Nantwich

Taking place over the first weekend of September, this festival brings the finest food and booze to the historic market town of Nantwich. Expect artisan foods from across the UK plus exhibitors from as far afield as Mexico, Iran, India and Thailand.

One of the few UK food festivals to take place in a town centre, visitors can choose from dozens of independent shops, cafes, restaurants and bars.

Pub in the Park

7 – 9 September 2018

The Lambing Shed, Knutsford

After a sell-out debut in Marlow, Tom Kerridge’s Pub in the Park event comes on tour to Knutsford in September. The food and music festival sees acts including Toploader, Razorlight and Tom Odell.

Visitors will also find pop-up pubs, demonstrations from top chefs and lots of shopping on offer. You’ll have to be quick if you want to attend, some of the slots have already sold out.

Arley Hall Food Festival

22 – 23 September 2018

Arley Hall and Gardens, Northwich

The Great British Food Festival returns to the picturesque village of Arley this year, with 100 local producers serving up hot food, real ale, wine and more. There’s loads of activities for kids, demonstrations from top chefs and a wide variety of live music.

Finish your summer the right way, with tons of food and drink on offer, you could hibernate until 2019 if you choose.
